This was the sweetest Newport Beach cake smash session in the studio with sweet Mae and her darling bit brother Calvin. Welcoming them back to the studio for this adorable milestone was so fun. I hope you love this session (more than little Mae loved her cake smash)! Not every babe likes getting messy, but we made the very best of the moment by capturing the little details instead.

Meet Mae and her big brother Calvin! Both of these little ones have been HHP Collective members since before they were born. Watching them grow has been a gift, and I’ve loved getting to know their sweet parents.
We are also thrilled they are expecting their third baby later this year! Emily has been such a loyal HHP client, and I am so grateful for that. They live over 30 minutes from the studio but make it a point to document the first year with several trips to the studio.
We mentioned before that Mae wasn’t a fan of her cake smash portion of the session, but her big brother loved stepping in to cheer up his baby sister. I loved documenting their precious relationship and how much they love each other.
Letting Little Ones Guide the Session
While we will always do our part to ensure little ones are engaged during the session, we never want to force them when they aren’t feeling it. Some little ones just don’t love getting their hands messy, and little humans have tough days just like the grown-ups do.
In our studio, we will always work with your little people to ensure they are happy and comfortable. We’ve been doing this for a while and have some helpful tips and tricks to keep sessions moving well. Mama, I promise, we’ve seen it all, and sometimes toddlers have their own vision for how things should go. We welcome their tiny personalities at every stage!
